Our Story
HCS is managed by Andrew Huckstepp. Andrew has significant experience working with people with mental health journeys and disabilities; including several years experience as a Community Support Worker for a Mental Health NGO. Andrew also has an honours degree in psychology and has worked as a provisional psychologist in the NDIS.

Andrew is driven to assist people in the community reach their goals, and believes that positive, tailored and client-focussed support is the way to achieve this!

My qualifications:
Honours Degree in Psychology, Bachelor of Science (Majoring in Psychology), & Bachelor of Law.
Many years’ experience working as a Psychosocial Support Worker and Community Rehabilitation Support Worker.

Bianca
Senior Support Worker
My qualifications:
Bianca has over three years’ experience as a support worker. Bianca works adeptly with clients with complex mental health journeys and comorbidities, including:
- Autism
- Anxiety and Depression
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Behaviours of Concern

Bianca also works closely with families, working in a collaborative and holistic manner.

Participants should complete activities that they want in a way that they choose, and should complete these activities with their community whenever possible!
At HCS, we believe that everyone has the right to make their own choices in life. HCS strives for everyone to learn the skills needed and the self-confidence to complete activities themselves. First and Foremost, HCS protects and promotes autonomy for all.

Daily Tasks in Shared Living
HCS can provide assistance to individuals living in shared living environments, assisting participants developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible.
Such skills can include;

Cooking.
-
Cleaning.
-
Managing bills
-
And any other skills an individual might need for independent living.
Household Tasks
HCS can assist with everyday tasks such as gardening (including removal of green waste) and cleaning. Cleaning can cover assisting with dishes, moping, vacuuming and more!
Transport
HCS understands that a major obstacle to community participation and completing goals can be a lack of transport. HCS provides transport services to participants to assist them meet all their community and social goals.
Development of Life Skills
HCS can assist participants with individual life skills development and training, such as assisting with public transport training and support, and developing the necessary skills for community, social and recreational participation.
Assistance with Personal Living
HCS can assist an individual learn and complete the necessary skills with regard to personal activities. Such supports provide a participant with assistance with personal tasks of daily life to develop skills of the participant to live as autonomously as possible.
Such skills may include;

Developing morning, daily, and nighttime routines.

Learning sound hygiene practices.
